We are proud to share that Youth Villages of Middle Tennessee will receive a $9,500 grant through Westfield Insurance’s Legacy of Caring Program, thanks to SouthPoint Risk’s nomination.
Each year, Westfield invites agency partners like SouthPoint Risk to nominate organizations demonstrating strong commitment to serving individuals and families in need. Selected nonprofits receive funding to further their work and expand their impact.
SouthPoint Risk nominated Youth Villages for this opportunity based on the organization’s strong commitment to serving those in need and its alignment with values shared across our industry—supporting individuals and families as they navigate challenges and work toward brighter futures.
The $9,500 grant will support Youth Villages’ LifeSet program, which helps young adults ages 18 to 23 transition to independent living after foster care. LifeSet provides consistent, hands-on support including guidance with housing, employment, education, and other essential needs, helping participants establish a strong foundation for adulthood.
Greg Schott, Assistant Director of Development for Youth Villages, shared the following:
“Youth Villages of Middle Tennessee greatly appreciates the very generous donation from the Westfield Legacy of Caring grant in support of basic and emergency needs for older youth in our LifeSet program who are now 18, without any support system and learning to live successfully on their own. The following is an example of how this funding will help these young adults.
Two weeks ago, Ben was discovered living under the highway with very little other than the clothes on his back. Our amazing LifeSet staff immediately went to work, securing a safe, temporary place to live, food and some clothing. However, he had many other physical needs that had to be met for his journey to success to begin.
Basic hygiene items, pots, pans, cleaning supplies, sheets and numerous other items were essential in helping him establish an environment where he could thrive and begin to address his mental health challenges. Ben is now making significant progress, and with funding like the Westfield Legacy of Caring grant, we will be able to continue meeting his basic needs as they arise.
Thank you to everyone at Westfield for providing this essential funding to make a significant positive impact on the lives of our young adults in the LifeSet program. We are truly grateful.”
SouthPoint Risk has supported Youth Villages since 2008 through ongoing community involvement and contributions. We’re grateful for partners like Westfield whose Legacy of Caring Program helps support organizations making a difference in the communities we serve.
